Smartphone App

Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 11, 2026

The Weekly Bu mobile application is designed with a "privacy-first" architecture. We believe your relationship discussions are a sacred space, and we protect them accordingly.

No Account System: There are no user accounts. We do not require you to register or provide personal information to us for the core check-in experience on your device.

Calendar invites & limited server processing: If you choose to send calendar-related emails (for example onboarding or scheduling reminders with your partner), the app transmits the minimum information needed to deliver those messages: typically both partners' names and email addresses, your agreed check-in day and time, timezone (and related display preferences), and technical fields required to build the calendar content. That payload is sent from your device to Weekly Bu's servers only for this purpose; our backend uses Brevo to send the transactional emails and uses Google reCAPTCHA Enterprise (including verification through Google Cloud) to reduce abuse. Without completing reCAPTCHA successfully when it is enabled for this flow, calendar-invite email cannot be sent through our service.

Retention (Brevo & logs): We do not use those email addresses to operate a separate Weekly Bu "contacts database" for calendar invites beyond what is needed to send the message. However, names, addresses, and delivery metadata may appear in Brevo's systems as part of normal email sending—for example message logs, suppression lists, and operational records. How long Brevo retains such data is governed by Brevo's privacy policy and applicable law;we do not promise a fixed retention period on Brevo's behalf. If you need deletion assistance related to an invite you triggered, contact us and we will help within reasonable limits.

On the device, Google's reCAPTCHA Enterprise SDK may process signals for abuse prevention. Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service apply, along with Google's reCAPTCHA terms where applicable.

In-app error monitoring (Sentry): The Weekly Bu app includes Functional Software, Inc. (Sentry) so we can receive crash reports, performance traces, and diagnostic logs from your device. Depending on our configuration, this may include Mobile Session Replay—a reconstruction of how the app screen looked during part of a session or around an error—which could include text or visuals visible on screen at the time (for example field labels or values if they appear in the UI when an event is captured). We also enable options that may attach additional technical or contextual data to events (see Sentry's description of default data collection in their Privacy Policy). Sentry processing happens on Sentry's infrastructure, not on Weekly Bu servers, and is separate from the optional browser-side error monitoring described in the Website Privacy Policy (where we offer a cookie preference for loading Sentry in the website). The native app does not use the website's cookie banner; if you do not want this kind of diagnostic transmission, your practical choice is not to use the app or to contact us for guidance if we offer a build or setting without it.

Local Data Storage: Check-in content you generate in the app—including values you choose, session history, and notes—lives on your device unless you explicitly export or share it yourself. This local content is not uploaded to our servers as part of normal app operation. The calendar-invite flow above is a deliberate exception you initiate.

Usage Tracking (With Your Approval): To improve the app, we may track how you use it, but never what you put in it. If you approve, we may collect anonymous, aggregated data such as:

  • Which features you use.
  • Completion rates of check-in sessions.
  • The time it takes to complete a check-in or a built-in topic.

This tracking is designed to be strictly anonymous and aggregated; it is not intended to identify you or your partner.

What We NEVER Track: We will never track, collect, or store:

  • The contents of your discussions or interactions.
  • Any interaction with your partner.
  • The specific words you say to each other.
  • The values you choose.

How this relates to diagnostics: We do not use Sentry or other tools in this policy to read or analyse your relationship content for advertising or profiling. As noted under In-app error monitoring, technical captures (including replay) could still include whatever is visible on screen when an event is recorded—that is a limitation of how crash diagnostics work, not a separate product purpose.

This is a safe, private place.

Website-only collection: If you use our marketing website, we may collect information you submit there (for example newsletter or contact form) under the Website Privacy Policy. That is separate from app-local check-in data.

Infrastructure & services (summary): We use Vercel for hosting our web properties and APIs, Brevo for transactional and marketing email where applicable, and Google (reCAPTCHA Enterprise / Google Cloud) for abuse prevention on protected flows. Sentry receives diagnostics from three places where relevant: (1) the mobile app on your device, as described under In-app error monitoring above; (2) our hosted APIs and server-side code when Sentry is enabled for that environment; and (3) the marketing website in your browser only when you opt in to error monitoring in our cookie preferences—see the Website Privacy Policy for analytics, fonts, website replay detail, and reCAPTCHA on the site.
